What Easy is like
With only 4 spots, every guess tests a big share of the word at once, so Easy races are quick and close. Plenty of racers solve in three, which puts the clock in charge: the gap between first and tenth on today's board is often a few seconds. It's the length for a warm-up, a coffee break, or a fast daily habit.
Tips for 4-letter words
- Short words love doubled letters (BOOK, TOLL, SEEN). If a guess leaves a spot unexplained, try a repeat.
- Many short words differ by one letter (BAKE, CAKE, LAKE, MAKE). With three spots locked in, guess a word that tests several of those first letters at once instead of trying them one at a time.
- Speed counts most here, so settle on a first guess you can type without thinking and keep it for every race.
How a Easy race is scored
Find the 4-letter word in up to 7 guesses. You can use up to 3 hints. The clock starts when your board appears and stops when you finish. Our server keeps the time, so it’s fair for everyone. Daily results rank hint-free solves first, then by guesses, then by time. Unsolved results rank last. Each solved Daily Race earns (8 − guesses used) × 100 points, plus a speed bonus of up to 99 points that shrinks evenly to 0 at 3 minutes, minus 150 points for each hint you used. An unsolved race earns 0. The speed bonus is worth less than one guess, so with the same hints, fewer guesses always scores more. A hint-free solve in 3 guesses at the one-minute mark is worth 566 points; one in 4 guesses at 20 seconds is worth 488.
